I was reading my original post and I might have worded it poorly. The bot would not login to the minecraft server, it would just activate the start button on the aternos server control panel. And it would only start the server if an actual person typed in a command through discord (that's where the bot runs). So it shouldn't create any more lag than if a regular person started the server.

Let me know if I worded this post confusingly too or if you need more clarification.

So what is your guys policy on bots logging into the server panel and starting it?

The reason I ask is because I have a discord bot that I hope to use to start the server with a simple command. That way starting the server is easy for all the other server members (not needing the password and such) and they don't have direct access to the server control panel (the bot goes through that for them). So people won't be opping themselves without permission and things of that nature.

But I understand that a bot starting the server might not be wanted, so I wanted to check with you guys before I added that functionality.

Certain server settings seem to reset to their default setting after closing the server page. It does not seem to reset the player count, but it resets the difficulty to easy which I constantly have to switch back. Is this intentional or is it a bug?

That's my feedback, and thanks for setting this whole system up. :)

So normally in my single player worlds I make afk style farms (iron farms, fishing farms, etc), and I was wondering if it would be okay to do something like that on a server?

Also do you like it to be kept to only overnight, 1 day, or do you not care too much?

So I tried the ipconfig flushdns thing on 3 separate occasions. The first two times it did nothing, but the third time I was able to log on with the custom IP, and it worked again today, even though I didn't do the ipconfig cmd this time. I haven't been able to figure out what the correlation is yet, but at least it works sometimes... Anyways thank you for the reply!

Well, the regular IP you can customize _______aternos.me.Ex: garplod.aternos.me

*NOTE: If that doesn't work then try to use the dynamic one. :D

Yeah I understand how the ip works. :) The custom one points to the dynamic one so either can be used. Thing is the custom one hardly ever works for me, so I end up constantly changing the ip to whatever the dynamic one is (which isn't a big deal; just a little annoying). Theoretically, it seems like there could be a more consistent way to point to the dynamic ip, but whatever...

First let me say, I set up an Aternos server a few days ago for my friends and I, and I am quite enjoying it. You guys have a great setup here, and I appreciate how practical it is (no button you have to push every hour to keep the server alive type of thing).

So the first thing I noticed was that the regular IP doesn't work very often for me. The Dynamic IP has worked when the regular one doesn't so that's good, but I was wondering if there was any future plans for making the main IP be more stable/more usable? Or is there some trick to make it work or something?

Next thing I noticed was the server icon. The Aternos one is pretty cool, but it would be nice if it was customizable. So, same question: any future plans to add this option?

I used the server queue a few times now and it has been buggy for me a couple of those times. I would have to click the 'Yes, I'm still here' button about every five seconds, and then it fix itself and I would have 50 seconds or so between clicks. Both of these instances were during higher load times, so it's possible that might be related...

This last thing is really minor, but the console is really nice except for the fact that there is no scrollbar. I like having a log of the chat that is further back than what the Minecraft client can normally store, and I have used the log feature which has a scrollbar. Still though, it would be nice if the console had a scrollbar (like I said, not a big issue).

Anyway, thanks for setting all this up. I looked at a lot of different server hosts, and this was literally the only one without a deal-breaking catch. :)
