Letting volunteers review mods wouldn't solve that problem in any way.
Especially if someone would need to review the "recordings", that would just be additional effort.
why not? I mean there might not be recordings the volunteers submit, but I bet more people would volunteer to test a mod. Also those exploits can be detected and automatically corrected pretty easily (from what I know)
Viruses aren't really a concern to the system. The concern is the possibility to abuse mods or plugins to circumvent systems that are in place, breaking the ToS. VirusTotal, just like other anti-viruses cannot detect whether mods/plugins can be abused for things such as making your server 24/7 (for example).
The amount of effort, time and people required to filter through the amount of requests that would generate is probably just not worth the little beneift that would actually be generated from this.
That is why I said the mod testing team could be made up of volunteers who want to test the mods and send like a recording back or something
I know that for mods to be added to aternos they have to be approved and popular. Some mods aren't popular because they aren't meant to be released, only meant for gameplay with friends. So I think that you can request a specific mod for a specific server (if it gets approved, its only for that one server). And you can have a volunteer mod testing team who are willing to record and test the requested mods. That way you can add mods for you and your friends. (If you know how, I would suggest making a mod to help with recording results). And to help make sure that the mod isn't a virus you could just scan it with virus total. I mostly say all this because I really want to play multiplayer Minecraft with a mod I made.
