I'm confused. Should I put in into the mods folder and use forge? I'm sorry I'm not getting this thank you all for helping, could you go through it step-by-step?

Well I've gotten the server online, but it just says "logging in" for forever. Any ideas as to why this happens? I believe I have the mods set up right. What should I do with the mod pack I downloaded to my PC?

Ok that helps, one more question (I'm sorry) how do I install it to the server? I swear I'm not stupid I used to be able to run my own server but I honestly don't know what happened to me.

I meant that the mod pack is for 1.7.10 and so that's what version of minecraft I was using. I did install the mod pack. Andreas, what does re-installing my server entail? Sorry I'm clueless. And should I have posted this somewhere else? (Since you have the moved thing)

Im trying to setup a modded server but i cant get it to work. Ive gotten a vanilla server working. I installed the modpack i wanted (direwolf20) ran the compatible version of minecraft and if it shows that the server can be joined, which it rarely does, it just says logging in forever.
