what kind of software does it use? is it fabric or forge (or something else)?

hello! is your server modded or is it pure vanilla? if its modded then there might be an issue between mod versions
it is a mod server i have already checked all mods and they are the same as my modpack

Make sure you select your forge installation in your launcher
I use the technic launcher

I just tried making a localhost server with the same version of forge and the same mods and it works so I assume the problem is aternos

if this doesnt work try reinstalling the server mods and add them back same goes for your minecraft mods
done but it still doesn't work
