Is ur friend using tlauncher?
No, he is not using Tlauncher. Both of us are using 1.7.2 Optifine on the Minecraft launcher

I started up an Aternos server on 1.7.2 and I gave my friend the IP. He tried to joined but claimed it told him he was not whitelisted. However Whitelist was not even on. I tried turning it on and adding him to the whitelist and trying to turn whitelist on and off but that didn't seem to work either. We are both on 1.7.2 and I am easily able to join the server however with whitelist on and both our names in the whitelist he still can not join. Any tips or suggestions on how to fix this. I have tried many things.
