At around 1-3 minutes (forgot which) left, a confirmation will appear on the site. You will need to click this to allow your server to start.
If this is not your case, check to see if your server has too many objects in it. I am not sure if this should affect anything, but mainly check your world size, entities within the world, etc.
(This is an uncommon error for me to answer, so forgive me if I messed up on anything)

How to write a (good) plugin/modpack/mod request
Also the plugin has not been updated since 2015, and thus cannot be added

That link is to Essentials, which itself has not been updated to 1.8. If you're going to make a plugin request, use the correct link.
(Either that, or the link itself messed up)

When you press the download button on the plugin screen, it downloads the .jar file, which is the actual plugin. After you start/restart your server, most plugins will generate a file (if not, the plugin either doesn't have one, or you need to wait a minute or so). I do believe by second version, you mean the file with the config, correct?

If you want a modpack with all those mods added, make it yourself and gain it some popularity

They cannot add plugins that must be bought, as then they have to be paid for every server that installs them, which could lead to bankruptcy.

The plugin has to be downloaded from an external site, which they do not allow

The plugin has not been updated since June of 2014, and as such will be classed as outdated

I do believe it was removed due to some issues.

Make sure you restarted your server after adding the plugins.
Also check to make sure you have all the plugins those 2 rely on to run (just for example, Essentials Economy [or whatever it's called] requires the plugin Vault to work right)

I assume it may not be added, due to it receiving no updates, and it was created in 2014

I don't necessarily see anything that could be blocking building, unless your server is 1.8+ and you installed Essentials alone (if you did, try installing EssentialsX alongside it). Also check your files to see if Essentials Anti Build or Essentials Protect is there

Derrin is overall one of the better Helpers. You may have just caught him at a bad time, which I will say, isn't really an excuse. Coming from a helper on the discord, he's probably somewhere in the range of most active. Like Roman also stated, this is a job we took voluntary after being offered it. If at any time he does actually abuse permissions, his voluntary role can be revoked.
