So I had a very bizzare glitch: When I installed snapshot 17w50a to my server and then log into the server with an username that I'd never use on the server (or in the server), it immediately killed me after some chunks had been loaded so I installed 1.12.2 with my main username and almost everything I built was overwritten with air, stone etc. Why is this happening to me?

P/S: i'm playing hexxit with 1400MB of RAM i still have some lag (my FPS is OK, i mean like, when i break a block it took a sec to drop and somethings like that) -
can you add the RAM allocating feature? i can't play with the default amount of RAM without any lag

can I play worlds with different names? because if i play both mods and vanilla in one world it will be absolutely corrupted
