Just to state the problem for you:

without

%s has joined the server.

means that the player was kicked.

* And Aternos is really having a lot of problems with a lot of modifications, so simply consider that it is not supported by Aternos (sadly).

Another way is to join your server then go to Players tab from menu and click "OP" next to your name.
