Server and Plugin Suggestions
Hello Aternos Community, It's Atreus with a few suggestions. These suggestions are related to how plugins are installed onto servers and servers in general. I will go into detail further into the post. I will also organize the suggestions corresponding to what you may be interested in.
Plugins
So this is a basic suggestion and isn't as lengthy as the server suggestion. I was wondering if it were possible to implement a way to search for plugins by version. So if you wanted 1.10 or 1.14 plugins you could easily enable a filtering option for those specific versions. It would make a the already clean user interface be more convenient.
Server
So I'm not entirely expecting anything like this to be implement but I wanted to see if it were possible or ever considered. Would it be possible to have more ram for the server? 1.7 GB is good, especially because it is free, but it may not be enough. My reasoning for asking this isn't because I'm not grateful for the work the Aternos staff do. It is because modded servers with 4 or so people (even in vanilla with that many people) get a lot of lag. I know its normal for when chunks are being loaded but even if all are in already loaded chunks it can make console constantly notify me about how the server is really behind. I was wondering if it were possible for the limit to be increased to 3GB or even 2.
Naturally I know it's not cheap to manage servers and that we already have a free 1.7 GB server so we shouldn't be choosing beggars but I just wanted to suggest a kind of "compromise". As a compromise there could be a donation or pay system implemented to help support the increase. Or it could be account specific so that those who pay get a bonus. I know the Aternos slogan is "Minecraft servers. Free. Forever. " but when compared to some other hosting servers; Aternos is a lot simpler and cleaner in terms of website design, plugin implementation and the like which is why I would much rather use Aternos. Of course I understand completely if it's not possible or was decided against if it was brought up sometime in the past.
I don't mean to sound like I'm ungrateful and I'm happy Aternos puts in the work so friends can play with each other, I just wanted to ask and see what replies I got.
TL;DR Beggars can't be choosers, 1.7 GB might not enough, Donation or 'Premium' compromise to accomdate these potential new changes.
Disclaimer: I'm aware the staff are already putting in a lot of work for us. This isn't a demand, merely two suggestions.
