Aternos doesnt verify every single version they just verify if the mod should be playable in general(at least one version).

Curseforge publishes anything that is legal and doesnt break theyr guidelines and has a point in doing so because you can still use the mod from there if you get the coremod from their website. The problem is that aternos doesnt support ftp or the original mod site.

Are there any plans on running thanos automatically if the server is too big or give the user an option to run it on the server?

Thanos shouldnt require a lot of ressources and if you download the world you need to delete a lot more chunks because of the 200mb limit
