How do I know which version any modpack is running, there is no indication of this. Please help

I am new to the site:) and love to host servers (back info)
I recently attempted to install the modpack "FTB-Magic Farm21.6.4"
I understand that I need the FTB launcher, and have to run the 1.6.4 minecraft version. but my question is...
Which version do I even run?? It does not tell me. I try to run the server and join it from the newest version of Magic Farm 2, and can not even join my own server. I get errors then disconnect. Please help and explain the steps to installing a modpack and using a modpack in the server. I understand how to go on the site and click install. I do not understand how to actually join my own server (not using the wrong IP for sure) thanks!
