I created a pixelmon server for my friends to play on, forge 1.16.5, pixelmon 9.0.0. when my friend tries to join it loads normally until it comes to "saving world" on the joining screen and gets stuck on that screen. Does anyone know what might be causing the issue or how to resolve it?
Edit: He has the mod of his end and the correct forge version.
Sounds like his client crashed, ask him to share his client latest.log file.

No one can add a server on your Minecraft server list unless they have access to your PC.
They can't do so even if they have access to your Minecraft account.
It just sounds like someone who has access to your server edited the MOTD of your server.

Make sure you have the same collection of mods installed on client and server.
Share your client log:
1. open your minecraft installation path
(enter %appdata%/.minecraft in the file explorer )
2. open the logs folder
3. open the "latest" or "latest.log" file with a text editor
4. copy and paste the content of the file to https://mclo.gs/

Aternos is funded by ads.
If you don't visit the Aternos website Aternos can't pay for the servers.
