  • [SOLVED] io.netty error, unable to join friend's server

    i've been trying to join my friend's server, but it's showing the error "io.netty.channel.AbstractChannel$AnnotatedConnectException: Connection refused: no further information", i've played on the server before but it's only now that this error occurred.


    i'm playing on 1.16.5, both tried without any optifine and with, both had the same results, and use the official mc launcher


    i've tried the solutions: disconnected and reconnected from the internet, restarting my laptop, firewall check, reinstalling mc, reinstalling java, re-adding the ip, copy and pasting the ip.


    the server shows up fine when it's offline, but it says "Can't connect to server" and shows the grey minecraft server logo, my other friends and the server host are able to connect to the server just fine and it's just me who has this error, help? i don't want to ask for a dynip as it'd get annoying quick and looking for a more parament solution to fix this, as it was working before just fine
