From what I can see, I don't see a difference in my structure. I know I don't have a resource pack pic, but I didn't think that mattered. Do you think you can show my structure compared to what it should be? Like in the same format from the linked post. I'm sorry. Just super confused. I just don't see what I should restructure.

I'm so sorry for the many months of not responding. I had essentially forgot about the post after leaving it for a while, not knowing when to expect a response. I do hope you're still willing to assist me. When you say "root level of the zip archive," what does that imply? Should it be placed in a different folder? If so, what name? Because it's currently under "mcpatcher" and then under "cit." Sorry if I'm not understanding completely.

I followed steps to make a resource pack and make custom item textures. I designed my textures and made the "code" with the properties or whatever it's called (I'm not very tech savvy). I looked through other forums with the same topic but I can't see how things are solved.
I made my resource pack and turned it into a zip file, uploaded to dropbox, pasted to aternos, and changed the 0 to 1, but I keep getting the message that the pack couldn't be applied and that custom items might not appear as intended. Here's my link.
