How to remove a mod from a modpack (mod folder not in files??)

Me and my friends started to play Crazycraft recently, however it is super laggy. We have been trying to get rid of the Cave Rats mod because it's kind of a nuisance and we might as well see if it helps with the lag due to it being a seemingly low effort mod. My partner who is the one who made the server was messing around with files to try to delete the mod, and I have no clue what they did because the rats are still there but it made the server lag MUCH less. It is still laggy however... Today I was also given the server login so that I could try to mess around to see if I could get rid of the rats. I googled and a lot of places said to go to "files" and then the "mods" folder but... I see no mods folder. I looked through all of these and see no Cave Rats. Please help???

Do you have any suggestion to how to make it lag less then? I have 8000mb allocated on Crazycraft and on a different server playing Better Minecraft the same amount and it worked just fine so if there's anything else I could do it would be greatly appreciated
