You should have paid attention to the date, when the backup was created.
Download your world by yourself in future to prevent another loss of progress.

Reading is always the best thing to do to avoid problems. I think you misunderstood the backup feature. It's not to create a backup (backups are created automatically), it's to load the last backup to your server. And that's what you did. If you want to make own backups, use the download function.
