tinkers construct causing lag, any fix?

every single time i install tinkers construct the server seems to lag, ive deleted mods and such and installed tinkers construct to see if its too many mods on the server slowing it down and no matter what i do it will always lag the server and i cant seem to fix it, i even did it on a seperate server with a fresh new world with tinkers construct only (and mantle of course) yet the server still seemed to lag. is there anyway to fix this? i really want to be able to use tinkers construct but at the moment this doesnt even seem possible

side note: playing mod packs with tinkers construct in them seems to work fine

ok i tried that before but only tried one version ill try others

but any specific version you recommend? im playing in minecraft 1.12.2
