Nukkit is an open source server software like Pocketmine is but the problem with Pocketmine is that there are way to many broken, Discontinued, really old plugins and can be limiting at times. However, Nukkit has many fresh plugins that are still supported.
Nukkit is written in Java so it is faster and better with performance and in many other ways is just better and can allow you to re-write plugins from other platforms to make them up to date again or for other reasons.
