What software do you use?
Do you have plugins or mods installed?

This sounds like a problem with the browser not executing javascript.
Make sure that you disable all extensions especially addons like noscript and addblocker.

Especially for SpongeForge this isn't a deny in general.
We'll keep an eye on it and add it if it makes sense to us.
Right now the estimated benefit is much lower than the effort to add this software.
