Please make sure that the mc version the map was made for matches the version installed on your server.
Also you could check the log for error messages

What was the status before switching to "stopped"? Was it starting or loading?

Oh, I totally missed that. I put the ram up a bit for this modpack.

Minecraft Options > Video Settings > Render Distance
You need to raise it.
