Why don't you use essentialsX? If it does not work on your server you could try to find out why it does not work.

We only add the latest stable version of a mod or modpack.

Perhaps you could add a "Sort By Latest" and "Sort By Oldest" option to the plugins list. It would change the order of the plugins listed to the latest ones added, to the oldest plugin avalible added, and vice versa with Sort By Oldest.
We are already working on a improved plugin browser.
Also what is the oldest avalible plugin that can currently be installed on Aternos?
