Aternos has limited resources. The more users want to start their server the longer is the queue.

In this case we only add the latest minecraft version. In your example 1.8.9

Servers normally get started with java 8. (out of some older modpacks)
Do the downloaded plugins get listed on the "files & plugins" page?
Does the server generate any errors?
