Backups are compressed, the world is usually bigger than the backup.

The backup is compressed, yes but it contains the full server (all worlds, plugins etc,)
The download contains only the world you've downloaded.
For me the world download works without any issue. Your world __ is 660 MB big

It's not possible to change the username on Aternos itself, but you can change your server's IP on the options page
With Skellett it was possible to bypass the limitations of the Aternos system

According to it's curseforge page you have to set the world-type in the generate window to terraforged and upload a SP world then

When Forge supports it, you can simply set level-type=terraforged in your server.properties file. In
the meantime, you will need to create the world in single player and then copy that to your server
directory. (In both cases, TerraForged must be installed on the client and the server).
