Do you face the time out issue if you try joining a vanilla server on aternos ?
Strangely, no. I remember a while ago, though, when I tried this, I logged onto the server after reinstalling it without any mods. When I installed a mod, though, it started doing its timeout thing again. I then tried going back to vanilla, but then just nothing would load.

I've been having this problem with the exact same details. I've even tried creating an entire new server, didn't work. It's clearly something wrong with Aternos generally, or just on the user's end, but I can't figure it out. It only makes it more strange, though, that servers that aren't Aternos work just fine.
I can definitely confirm that any progress you remove or add will not change a thing, I'm pretty sure...

I was using the Deadly Disasters plugin on the PaperMC software, and everything was running fine. One evening everything was running perfectly and lag-free, and the next day, I try to log on and every time I do everything freezes and eventually just kicks me out with the error message:
Connection Lost
Internal Exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset
It never stops unless I don't have the Deadly Disasters mod installed onto the server. I would just give up and say the mod doesn't work, but it ran perfectly fine for a few days, so maybe it's fixable?
