You can only use them in creative mode
ah sorry I didn't know this. thank you so much though, I'll just temporarily switch it to creative to do what I need.

I play on Java edition on version 1.14.4

Did you restart the server after enabling the command blocks ?
so I just tried turning off command blocks, turning them on again, then starting up the server. nothing happened

So I've had an Aternos server with my friends for the past few days and recently I wanted to get command blocks to use. So I used the give command to give myself one and I'm unable to place it. Command blocks are allowed in settings and I'm a server operator in game so I really don't know what the problem is. Any help would genuinely be appreciated. Thanks.
