If the mod is available on curseforge you can request it.
But requesting it isn't enough!! Once I added 5 more mods to FTB Sky Factory 3 and when I went to add the mods to forge so that I can add extra mods, I did not get A LOT of mods, so it is very time consuming to request all the mods.... Probably adding all the mods in the forge mod list for a modpack is better....
Something like this would really change the customization users will be able to do with their modpacks...
Due to the system design how our system handles modpacks and custom modded servers under the hood is very different as modpacks exist for a much longer time than custom modded servers.
To support customization on modpacks huge modifications to our system are required with by rather low benefit. Install forge / fabric if you want custom modding.

thanks for the suggestions but the problem is that a lot of modpacks offer mods your servres dont have.
So if i was to put mod individually, a lot of mods wont be there....
so if you can add all the mods from a modpack, then add the modpack, that would be better and allow customization over Forge...
No, that would break the concept of modpacks
But alot of people want to add a few mods themselves for their experience, Why don't we limit the amount of more mods we can add, like 15 or 20 extra mods in a modpack, that would really help gain attention over the minecraft community...

I would like it if you can add feature where players can add or remove mods from thier server modpack. It will allow for a great customization as not all mods of modpacks are available if we were to add the mods to forge. I would appreciate if you can do that and also it will also help gain more people when you have such a great customization.

what do you mean by "custom modpacks"
Something like this... And it has all custom modpacks made by users that they wanted to add...
You have 2 options:
Option A:1. Change your software to forge
2. Install the mods
Option B:1. Publish your pack on a platform like curseforge
2. if its popular request it
No..... I mean like the categories we have for modpack like Curse, FTB, ATL, Other etc.. make a category called Custom Modpacks... That will help browse Custom Modpacks.
