There is an unofficial 1.8 version of Essentials, but it's not available at DevBukkit and therefore it's not available at Aternos.

We offer neither FTP access because of security related reasons nor MySQL databases. If you want to have a MySQL database, you have to get one separately.

Welche Fehlermeldung bekommst du, wenn du versucht, den Server mit den Plugins zu starten? Serverkonsole schon überprüft?
