I don't have a mob farm but the issue isn't mobs aren't spawning it's specifically HOSTILE mobs aren't spawning, I can even place an item that increases spawn rates in the chunk and it spawns them over time. I've tried flying to different areas ive never been in too and playing completely alone.

for these kinda problems, the only solution is to wait after some changes, I had these problems, but after some time mobs started spawning.
I wish there was something I could do, I've even added mods that ADD differnt types of monsters and they don't even spawn naturally. I've ran the server for about 5 hours every day ;C

If your server's view-distance setting is too small, it'll cause fewer mobs to spawn. We recommend increasing the view-distance setting in your server.
It's 10 I've never changed

hm weird well right now i have 1 more suggestion its just to re-create the world with the same mods i recommend to only to this if your world is still brand new or you dont mind your world being reset
I can't let my world be reset, I actually just tried making an entirely new server with the same mods and world. same issue :CCCC

oh i see well right now ur best bet is to uninstall each mod and test the world 1 by 1 its a boring process especially with lots of mods but hey it might work
When I play WITH every single mod in single player I have 0 issues, same with if I create a new world for the server.

A few solutions that might help..
- do /gamerule doMobSpawning true- Make sure the difficulty is not peaceful
- in the server dashbord go to options and check if the Monster and Animal settings are enabled
Other than that if you have plugins/mods those are also might be the problem
I've tried those solutions, I've even tried removing the mods that I thought were causing the issue yet nothing :C

Hostile mobs don't seem to be spawning anymore in my JAVA modded server, specifically I think it was after installing a mod called "improved mobs" I noticed mobs stopped spawning, I swiftly removed the mod and it's configs but now hostile mobs aren't spawning at all. Everything else from every mob mod I have spawns as long as it's not hostile (zombies, skeletons, spiders etc).
Issue summary
I tried the same mod setup INCLUDING the "Improved mobs" mod in single player, hostile mobs spawned. I tried it again by making a NEW server world and mobs spawned. I tried deleting my config files inside of my server folder just in-case but no changes. I also tried removing all my AI affecting mods and it didn't change, yet trying it in single player or on a new server world hostile mobs spawn. So clearly the issue seems to be my server world which. I also tried turning off the "forge remove ticking/error entities" setting but the issue still continues [Blocked Image: https://media.minecraftforum.net/avatars/0/17/635356669596699902.png]

Same issue, the only fix i've found is making a new world but I can't do that cuz my worlds special :C
