Discord Notification when Server Starts?

  • Hello,

New to the forums, however I've been running an Aternos server for a year or so now.

I am also running a discord server for those who play and I was wondering is there a way for a notification to pop up in discord whenever the server launches? Sort of connect the two.

    For example:

I or either a friend who I have given access to start the server, start it. We wait through the queue and when the server is actually online a discord notification comes in the #minecraft-chat channel in our discord server informing other players that they can now join.

I was wondering this and thought the forums was probably the best place to ask if it's possible and if so, how can one do it?

    Thank you in advance

  • Thanks!

Works exactly as intended, although I've found my server's TPS drop significantly as well as the chunk loading time. I don't know if that is because of Aternos or because of the plugin. I will keep using it for a couple of more days test it a little bit more see if the TPS improves.

Also wondering, is there a way to kind of customize the start message for the server?

For example, right now it looks like this:

I know most of the people mute the discord server to avoid spam notifications, or constantly getting notified of others chatting between themselves on a public chat channel, so is there anyway for the bot to tag all the people with a certain role when the server starts? So instead of "Server has started" it would be something like "@Role Server has started".

  • Luckily, there is a way to do that.

Step 1: Go to your Discord, type \@Role Server in the message and send. You can see your Role ID. Then copy it.

Step 2: Go to this link: https://aternos.org/files/plugins/DiscordSRV/messages.yml

Step 3: Find the line 363, you can see the message that says:

    Code
    DiscordChatChannelServerStartupMessage: ":white_check_mark: Server has started!"

Step 4: Edit the message. The format should be like this (this is just an example):

    Code
    DiscordChatChannelServerStartupMessage: ":white_check_mark: <@&802493483738******> has started!"

Note: If you attempt to put @Role Server in the message instead of Role ID, the bot will sent a normal message instead of tagging a role.

    Hope this will help you.
