Will my progress be deleted if I install a new software? (From Bedrock to Vanilla)

I accidentally installed a new software--Vanilla 1.16.5 without making a backup. My previous software was Bedrock 1.16.5, do I lose all my progress? If so, how do I recover it?

If you don't have backups, your worlds and plugins/mods are not recoverable.
