I tried to suggest a mod on the mod suggesting page, but it showed the error message "This plugin/mod can't be added for technical reasons". From what I can tell from the website, the mod doean't need an additional port or changes the player count on the server.

The issue is not related to ports. Cardboard mod makes a plugin folder inside mods folder which might be the issue as it would require custom stuff on their side to add plugins and mods at the same time.

You could use Mohist or Magma but it only supports forge mods and not fabric mods
