- Which version of Minecraft is installed on your pc? Any mods?
- Which Java version was installed on your computer before?
- Which software and version is installed on your server? (You can see that on the server page)
- Which Java Version is your server running?

Make sure you have the same collection of mods installed on your computer as on the server.
If that's the case try deleting the config folder on your computer and on the server.

You can by manually editing the level.dat file of the world with an NBT editor. (As I wrote above)

You'd have to reset/delete the world. That's the only way. Hardcore is an option for the world. It isn't a gamemode so it's not possible without deleting the world.
It is possible.
