Please note.
There are two different types of Essentials.
Essentials and EssentialsX.
Essentials (without X) only works up to minecraft 1.8
For newer versions of minecraft you have to install EssentialsX.

Please delete the essentials jar on https://aternos.org/files and then install essentialsX on https://aternos.org/plugins.

Do you want to disable item drops? You can do that with gamerules: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Commands/gamerule

What crashes? The server or your client?
Any error messages? Could you share the log with us?

For me it looks like a "friend" or someone other who had access to the account reinstalled it and changed the mail.

What is your Aternos username?
Any errors in the logs?
Any other oddities?

The lua scripts and schematics are a bit different.
Lua scripts are textfiles so you could just copy and paste them. But as far as I know the lua scripts are located in a directory where you don't have access to.
So, no you can not upload lua scripts.

Thanks for reporting. This problem seems to be related to the API we're using the fetch the data from spigotmc.org

It's not possible to access the commands.yml. But instead you can install plugins.
