Does this happen if any player joins? Or just you?
If it's just of you, you can try to delete your playerfile: Delete someones playerfile
Take a backup before.
-
That means that you already have a thread. There is no need to create a new one
-
In that log there is no crash...
Did you try to join?

Your server has charm v1.4.1 and the client has charm v1.4

You are saying the same thing over and over again.
You're just noticing this now?
If you would try to understand what I am telling you here, then we would not have to discuss the same over and over again.
If you have proof it is, please let us know. Otherwise please add it exclusively. That is all I am saying.
If you want me to give you a specific example, then ask that....
https://skriptlang.github.io/S…ml#ExprOnlinePlayersCount
Skript is as dangerous to you as any other plugin.
Again. I don't say it's dangerous. I say it allows bypassing our limitations.
-
There is a documentation for Skript. you can find it at
https://skriptlang.github.io/Skript/events.html#move_onI know that documentation.
If there is anything that could possibly be out of the scope of manipulating simple Minecraft mechanics please let me know.
You're right. Be we rely on these "simple Minecraft mechanics"
2) Look at other server hosters like minehut who have been supporting it for years. If it was really that intrusive why do they have it.
Aternos != Minehut
Both work completely different, have different targets and goals.
Therefore, there is also a different assessment of how much "benefit" it justifies to spend the effort to ensure compatibility of a single plugin.
I'm not sure, but AFAIK Minehut modifies source code of plugins and patch stuff on their own. This is actually the most work-intensive way you can take. We don't have the capacity for that.
4) The hoster should not care if we hack our own server. They should only be worried if it could intrude into other parts of the server. A plugin that changes minecraft mechanics does not have that scope
We actually don't care what do you on your server. But we care if it affects the whole system.
5)If Skript is your definition of bypassing limitations, then why are plugins with much higher danger even included.
Because they don't allow bypassing our limitations?
6) If Skript's update is dangerious why are all the other plugins automatically updated
Because the effort to check every single update is too big.
However, if we later find that a particular update is not suitable for Aternos then we remove it.
-
You clearly haven't. That's why there are so many threads asking for it
I didn't say that we have an updated Skript. I said that IF the new update would be okay, we would have it...
All we want is either Skript Github Fork to be added or a valid reason for it not to be added.
The reason is:
But the features Skript adds allows our users to bypass our limitations, and that's the reason why we can't add it.
To be more clear: The new versions of Skript from GitHub allow bypassing our limitations.
The old one from Bukkit which we currently have does not have the functionalities to bypass the limitations.
-
This new GitHub version is as okay as the Bukkit one. I'm sorry but I find it hard to believe that a plugin in just one update can become so intrusive it is not to be added. If so why are all other automated plugins automatically updated without any checks as you have mentioned in
If the new update would be okay, we would already have it.
-
And I answered:
Because the old Skript version is known to be okay.
-
From what I see there are many threads complaining about this.
Exactly.
If I think differently, that would be my problem
Yes, but when you notice that you'll contact us and make it to our problem...
This version of Skript is very well known to be okay
I don't say that it's insecure or that it's a bad plugin.
What Skript offers is actually really nice and I appreciate what the Skript devs do.
But the features Skript adds allows our users to bypass our limitations, and that's the reason why we can't add it.
(Just to point that out again, if for whatever reasons Skript is available on SpigotMC directly we still won't add it)
-
Firstly we don't need updates.
1) You don't want them, but many others want that.
2) You'll think different in some months about this.
3) You're actually asking for an update right now...
Secondly, If skript had such intrusive access why was it added in the Bukkit version (let alone the more harmful addons)
Because the old Skript version is known to be okay.
-
We aren't asking to write a transition tool to query stuff from GitHub, we just want one plugin added exclusively with, if needed, hardwired properties such as description, download etc. Even if it isn't updated regularly it would be much better than the extremely buggy and limited one in use right now.
That's not the point here. We would need to manually add updates, manually manage compatibilities and versions. As well as other information that changes with each update. That's why we need some sort of automation here.
That it's hosted on Github is also just one point. Skript adds a huge set of new functionalities to a server, but also such functionalities that allow our users to bypass our system limitations. That's something we can't allow.

Closing this in favor of Add SkriptLang
