Did you install a plugin server software (spigot or bukkit) and the appropriate plugin version?

There's no Essentials version for Minecraft 1.9 yet... There's only a official one for 1.7.9...

Könnte man die Server Dateien bearbeiten, kann man genauso einfach einen Virus o.ä. auf Aternos installieren... Deshalb ist das nicht möglich.
