There is now an updated version available for this experimental snapshot.
More information and download here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Minec…ion_snapshot_to_test_new/
Server version is updated here: https://aternos.org/software/v/snapshot/combat
Again, please only use them on new worlds and to test things and don't update your current world to that snapshot.

Thank you for the report, the error should be fixed now.

I've added Latvian for translation, you can translate it here: https://crowdin.com/project/aternos/lv
Thanks for your help!

Hey hey!
Mojang has released a custom snapshot to test new combat mechanics.
You can read everything about that test snapshot here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Minec…pshot_to_test_new_combat/
We've grabbed the server files and made them available for you here:
https://aternos.org/software/v/snapshot/combat
Please only use them on new worlds and to test things and don't update your current world to that snapshot.
(That's why we require you to reinstall your server to install the snapshot)
Happy testing and don't forget to give Mojang feedback on reddit!

and i don't understand one thing you matthias can explain how
Filtered means that you are only able to see the filtered servers (not related to sorting). E.g. by default you will only be able to see the online servers in the list. Those online servers will then be sorted by their vote count.

I've closed this thread in favor of the new thread: (Y)our server list ideas - Feedback
The keys for the best ideas will be sent to thienbao860 krazycrab and SMASHERYT! Congrats!

Hey hey!

Last week we've asked for your server list ideas. We didn't want to influence the ideas
in any way, so we didn't mention any of our ideas. Now, we want to show you our ideas
combined with your suggestions from last week as a basic concept:
- The server list is optional and disabled by default
- You can filter online/offline servers (only online servers by default)
- You can filter Bedrock/Java Edition servers
- Every server has a name, a short description displayed in the list and a full description
- The full description will include the possibility to use markdown (formatting like on Discord)
- You can add different social media links for the server
- It will be possible to show Discord server widgets
- Every server can show its language and timezone (optional)
- The server software and version can be displayed (optional)
- Predefined tags (e.g. version(s), game modes etc.) will simplify the search
- By default servers will be sorted by votes
- Every player can vote for a server once per day
- A vote lasts 7 days (no hard vote resets)
- A server admin can define commands that will be executed when a player votes (e.g. to give a reward)
We would love to hear your feedback on this basic concept and of course more ideas/improvements!

Hey hey!

It's been an idea for a long time but we finally want to start developing a server list for Aternos servers.
We don't want to just start developing it, we wanted to reach out to you to ask for your ideas for
a server list. Which features would you want? What tools would you like to present your server? How
do you usually search for servers and what would help you to find the perfect server in a server list?
We are really curious what ideas you have so that we can create an amazing server list for you!
To boost your creativity we are giving away free headstart keys for the best three ideas!
(Winners will be picked in a week from now)

Hi, thank you for your feedback! I'm happy to hear that Paper seems to work better than Vanilla and I've done some improvements: The RAM is now (at least temporarily) increased for Paper as well. The save interval is now set to 30 minutes (like all the other 1.14 versions). The chest sound bug is nothing we can fix, you can report it here if you want: https://github.com/PaperMC/Paper

Hey hey!
Over the last few days we've released some smaller and bigger updates as part of our "Log & crash update". It's now finished and we want to give you some information about the changes.
As we've learned over the last years, Minecraft servers fail often, especially on start up (over 300,000 times on Aternos in a month). Failed server starts are by far the most frequent support problem. Most of these failed starts are due to misconfiguration, e.g. incompatible plugins or mods or small mistakes in configuration files etc. Almost all of these problems add an error message to the server log.
Almost 2 years ago we've developed and published mclo.gs to help users with this problem and us and everybody else in supporting those users by providing an easy solution to share your log. It also had a basic feature to detect problems in the log automatically and suggest a solution. It's not used much besides our support, so we wanted to bring automated suggestions closer to our users.
Therefore we've developed our latest update with the following changes:
- All new log parsing and analysing for mclo.gs (including software and version detection)
- Improved log sharing usability on Aternos
- Log parsing and printing on the Aternos log and console pages (colors!)
- Automated problem detection on the log page with some automatic solutions
- Log problem count indicator in the navigation (red number)
- New server status (crashed + saving)
Some more in-depth information about some changes:
Server status
We often where asked why their server was stopped by our system and if there was anything wrong with our system randomly stopping servers. This was due to the status cycle that they were seeing on a failed start:
Offline -> Loading -> Starting -> Stopping -> Offline
We've now added two more status codes to reflect what's actually happening and make it clearer to the user when their server failed to start/crashed on startup. The status cycle for a failed start is now:
Offline -> Loading -> Starting -> Saving -> Crashed
We've split the stopping status in two different phases just like the starting (loading + starting). The new crashed status helps us to makes it clearer for the user why their server "stopped" and point them to the log. It actually behaves the same as offline. The status for a successful start is now:
Offline -> Loading -> Starting -> Online -> Stopping -> Saving -> Offline
Log parsing and analysing (for developers!)
Behind the log parsing and analysis both on mclo.gs and on Aternos is a common library that we've developed in the last weeks for this purpose. We've already open sourced mclo.gs last year and this library is open source as well. You can find all of that on our Github:
- mclo.gs: https://github.com/aternosorg/mclogs
- codex (general log parsing): https://github.com/aternosorg/codex
- codex-minecraft (minecraft implementation): https://github.com/aternosorg/codex-minecraft
We're open for improvements or new problem detection & solution suggestions!
We need your help!
The latest features (especially the problems and solutions) still require translation in lots of different languages. If you want to help us (Thank you!), you can translate Aternos here: https://crowdin.com/project/aternos
That's it for now, we hope you enjoy our latest update!
Your Aternos-Team

What happens when you try to open https://pro.fontawesome.com/ in your browser?
-
This was caused by the unusual ( ` ) character in the file name, that broke our API that we use to fetch the resource information and the download URL (https://mcc.aternos.org/). It's fixed now and you should be able to install the mod.

leaving aternos to focus on their life just like the team members
Yes, the team seems to get smaller, but what you can't see is that on the other hand the time we put into Aternos is actually growing. At the beginning of last year, we were all free time staff members trying to work on Aternos next to our work, school etc. Today, two team members are now full time employees, improving Aternos everyday.
unimprovment
I understand that as well, we haven't released that many visible updates in the last months and most of them were for specific users (mods, bedrock etc.). But we've done huge improvements behind the scenes this year especially because of the move last week. I know it might be a bit complicated to understand, but when you grow like we do, parts of your system start to fail and you have to fix or replace them. We've completely restructured and rewritten the way your server is stored on our file servers and also changed almost all other aspects of our system to be able to allow more servers than ever to run on Aternos. On the other hand we've tried to clean up our code base as good as possible to allow the implementation of new features.
Now, we are prepared to work on new features and we will hopefully be ready to announce them soon.

We've twittered about the outage today on our AternosStatus account (it's different from the main one).
However, thank you for your understanding and I must agree with you that we maybe should better communicate when you can expect an answer. I apologize for the inconvenience that this caused for you.
-
We try to inform our users on Twitter when there is a major outage like today. And also besides that outage I think 2 days to get a response from a free service are totally acceptable especially over weekends. There might be services that offer better support, but I'm sure that there are also lots of services that offer much worse support even for paying customers.
-
I'd say 3 days is plenty of patience.
3 days including weekends. Less than 2 days (including weekends) since you've contacted our (shared) support, not just a single person. I think that's a pretty fair response time. We had a small outage yesterday and a bigger one today that caused way more messages to respond to than usual (and more important things to do as well).
I tried to resolve the misunderstanding 1-on-1, without getting support involved. When that didn't work, I decided to get support involved. When support stayed quiet, after my patience was already spread thin, for almost a day at that point, I took to making public complaints. That is what worked.
That's not true. I already told you that we had a busy weekend and just took some time for us to get back to you. I've just read all your messages today and decided to answer here, because I think it's better to discuss something in public than private.
You are a consumer, but not a customer. Also you can't compare us to CurseForge, a website owned by Twitch, which is owned by Amazon. Literally the opposite of a small company like we are. You also can't compare your small mod with us. We get tons of messages every day and try to keep up with them, but it just takes some time especially on weekends.
