The system for detecting whether a file should be editable changed recently. That means that not all filetypes are detected as "should be editable" yet, so you might not be able to edit filetypes such as .tml, .json5 or .hocon. The team is working on that, and files with such endings and text files in general will be editable (again).

Backups only delete if someone deletes them, they can't be deleted from a crash or such. Did you share access to anyone?

It took too long to start, that can happen with big modpacks. Either you keep trying or you switch the modpack you use
