If the server crashes check the server console for more information. Reinstalling should work fine, everytime I do it, it works.

Make sure your world is packed in a zip archive and does not exceed the upload limit of 100MB. You may also have to delete the players directory from the world and make sure that the zip file name and world name do not contain any whitespace or special characters. You can also try to upload the world using a different web browser.

Cracked mode often times does not work when playing mod packs.
