You need the correct modpack launcher such as FTB launcher, AT launcher, technical launcher to download the modpacks.
What modpack are you trying to play?

Just change the player slots and press restart whenever you need more slots. -
Aternos doesn't allow that because someone could upload a virus to Aternos and ruin their servers.

It usually also takes the Team time to view posts and test out modpacks to see if they are compatible on Aternos servers. So hopefully you will get a reply soon of whether it might be added or not. -
