Does the console or log say anything about why it might be stopping?

Do you have command blocks enabled in the server options?

If aternos adds FTP access, they are creating many security risks.
Someone could make a 24/7 server.
Someone could upload a virus.
Etc. -

You will just need to find exceptions for yourself. So just test all your plugins before you put a lot of playtime on your server incase something doesn't work.

Have you tried being the only one on the server or the first one to join to test if it would still lag if no one else is on it

Maybe all of your friends are generating new chunks and are causing lag.
Try living near each other in the nearby rendered chunks.
