  • Hello Aternos team,

I had a question that why does the aternos team remove mods/modpacks which people don't play much........and don't add mods/modpacks which aren't reputable?

I mean, if people want then they will use when they want to use it......If the mods/modpacks are just there and not in use i believe that won't reduce server performance........I can understand if the mod/modpack had become more updated and the amount of resources required becomes heavy.......then also you can keep the older versions of the that mod/modpack(Here I refer to the last sentence).......It would be really good if you added almost all mods/modpacks requested:)

    Thanks

    - Modpacks are maintained manually. Adding new mods/modpacks, updating them and testing is already a work for multiple hours each week.

    - Modpacks require much more disk space than other software. Our software repository is already very large.

    - Modpacks contain mods. Mods contain code, which is being executed on our servers. Modpacks which are hosted on non reputable sources or only have a small amount of downloads have a much higher risk to be malicious.

    - Only a small part of our users are using mods and modpacks. The largest part plays bukkit/spigot or vanilla.

    - It doesn't really make sense to expand something that only a few people use anyway.

    - Modpacks often cause problems. So many problems that many of the support requests always come from users with modpacks. The smallest part of users (the modpack users) produce the largest part of support requests. That's a little disproportionate. The worst thing is that most of the problems can't be solved by us, but by the modpack creator.
