When I install Forge server software, I see a version just named "1.12.2." Does this come with a specific forge version number?
Just asking because the one before it (14.23.4.2766) was released back in 10/4)

This is the last forge version, it will automatically get updated as soon as a new forge version is out.

The forge build after 14.23.4.2766 had a major change which broke many mods.
We added that forge version to allow our users to play with mods which do not work with the newer forge versions. (However I think that all bigger mods are already compatible with the newer forge builds.)
