Hi. When me and my buddy open NEI and try searching for something, it sometimes kicks one of us with the message, "A fatal error has occurred. Connection terminated." Please help! We are new to modded mc and really need the NEI mod.

That's probably a modpack internal problem which can not really be solved by us.
However can you share the server log using the share button on the log page

The server log looks fine, so it's probably a client side problem. As I said, this can't be really get solved by us.
Did you already try to contact the modpack creator?
