  • I understand that your guidelines say that only mods on curse can be added to the mods list, but this Galacticraft thing is a serious problem for those who want to play the mod with friends on Aternos. You see, people have been asking micdoodle8 to add Galacticraft to curse for years, there are multiple forums made about it on their page. I have found one in specific that was asking about it for Aternos itself, and it seems that they will not be adding it to curse for it to be playable with Aternos, and instead want us to ask you to put Galacticraft in the mod list. Here is the forum post:

    https://github.com/micdoodle8/Galacticraft/issues/3544

Point is, there are a lot of people that want GalactcraftCore, micdoodlecore, and GalacticraftPlanets to be added to the mod library, and from my perspective, the only thing that is stopping it from being added is the curse exclusivity thing. So if possible, everyone would really appreciate if you made an exception. For the community.

Here's the info on the mod:

    Name: Galacticraft

    Link: https://micdoodle8.com/mods/galacticraft/downloads

Description: Galacticraft allows you to explore the solar system in your own spaceship.

I hope I didn't miss out on any info. Thank you for your time.

The reason why we add plugins and mods from public platforms like spigotmc.org or curseforge is that they provide mod/plugin information in a uniform structure or directly via an API.

This allows us to fetch information like

    - descriptions

    - versions

    - downloads

    etc. completely automatically.

So we just need to check the requested resource once here and importing descriptions, downloads etc. happens completely automatically. So we don't need to add any files manually or don't need to check the mods for updates as all this stuff happens automatically.

Mods provided via 3rd party pages have the problem that every website looks different.

So we could either manage these mod by hand or write a system which allows us to fetch the information automatically. Both options are require many time and manual care and are not worth it.

Right now the effort is much higher than the benefit.
