Custom Modpack server lag

Hi fellow Minecrafters! I recently started putting together a small (90 mods) modpack to play with my close friends. (1-2 other people) typing the command /forge tps results in a tick speed of 20 to 4 tps and a mean tick time of 45ms-180ms with 1 person on, depending on if its saving the world. On the other hand, my extra lenovo v570[jvm arguments:start.txt] (https://www.notebookcheck.net/…V570-1066A9U.58395.0.html) stayed at 20 tps, 15ms with the exact same mods and only dipped to 18 tps when we were swinging around super fast with a grappling hook mod.

My question is what is causing the lag on the aternos server, the saving of the world, which seems directly correlated, or something else?

That is true, but I specifically designed the modpack around my potato laptop,which, as i forgot to mention, is using wifi, not Ethernet for internet. I have been working with very limited hardware. Also, how do you turn off the saving world feature?

Especially if you don't configure them properly

I have changed zero settings on either server, regarding the mods, except the wall jump mod, but i changed those settings equally. the server.properties file is optimized though. (eg. view distance, snooper settings)

I was looking for a more technical answer.

Thanks! This is actually helpful! I guess I'll just have to make an actual modpack and get is approved. (Too low memory RAM) Will probably take a while though...
