What version of minecraft do i need to set my server to in order to successfully access essentials? since i see that it is still not updated to 1.8, i really want to use this plugin on my server along with other plugins.

There's no official Essentials version for Minecraft 1.8
On my server,i use essentials CB1.7.9
On that version,its working

Yes, the 1.7 version of WorldEdit does work on 1.7.
