(Thread Editor) Can't save custom id attributes

Using the Source Code Editor , I inserted an id attribute to one of my <p> tags so that I could link that part somewhere on the thread.

I then close the Source Code Editor so that I could save the thread.

However, the id attribute would disappear after I had saved it.

I want to know how I could make this work. Am I doing anything wrong, or is this intentional?

It's not an html editor. It just uses HTML like tags
