Could you add an FTP option to allow custom modding and other such things this would allow? I have seen other hosting companies do this and it added a sense of freedom and control.

this feature has already been requested multiple times and the answer is no, not for now. It is a too high security risk for them because someone could upload a virus or something etc.. But they've also said that they would maybe add something like this later.
