mod configs not working

Hello

Me and my friends are using a forge 1.12.2 server to play pixelmon (not a modpack, just the pixelmonmod) and are running out of space in our PC. Normally you can increase the amount of PC boxes you have by changing the config settings, but when I tried to do that it didn't work.

I went to the files section and manually changed the settings there and saved but it still doesn't work. Can you help because we really want to keep playing on that server?

Oh no i mean the PC in the pixelmon mod not the actual PC. The pixelmon mod adds pokemon in minecraft and these pokemon are stored in a PC. One of the mods config allows you to change the amount of boxes you can have. but somehow the config settigns are not working

That is not it because you can still change the config settings successfully in singleplayer worlds.

i went to files/config/pixelmon.hocon and changed in line 248 the number 30 to the number 256. I then saved and restarted the server but it didn't work.
