World is definitely corrupted
I wouldn't say that.
The server is able to boot up and is able to load the world.
As he said that the problem occurs when he tries to join might be a problem with his playerdata (if it has something to do with worlds) or a problem with his plugins

Then it is probably a bug in the mod itself.

Maybe you have to use at least an iron / diamond pick axe to get the furnance back.
(Like when breaking diamond ore)
However i think you have more luck if you contact the mod creator.

Me and my friend waited actually about half an hour for it, but we were trying to stop it from console, which may be the issue.
Half an hour is not possible.
If your server stays for 10 minutes in starting your server is immediately set to offline.

All modpacks are tested before they get added to Aternos.
Maybe you should check your server log for error messages and find out why your server is not able to start.

We already thought about an datapack tool for Aternos servers but there are currently no plans for that.
However you can download your world and install the datapack manually on your server.
